For the final unit that I did in my Technology class, I had to learn how to photoshop, throughout this unit I learned many things and had many struggles. Going into photoshop unit I thought that it would be very easy and I would be able to just copy and paste images in, but after the first day of exploring I knew it would be harder then I thought. We used the software Adobe Photoshop and they have many different tools that you have to put to use before even starting editing. For example, I had to use the layer, distortion, and visibility tools before I even started to make a cut on images. I had to use the layer took first so that I would actually be able to edit and move the elephants and giraffes, then I had to change the distortion so all of the elephants could look the same, and my final step into prep was the visibility that made the back ground image a little lighter to match the animals. The only issues that I faced during this unit was being able to cut images out, because for each of my animals i had to cut them out using the knife tool, then I had to use the eraser and zoom very close in to get all of the tiny white pixels out from the background. I created this image because I had already had the image as my background, and why I heard that we were doing a photoshop unit I knew I wanted to incorporate this photo in. I don't know if this picture was of a safari or not, but I really liked the tree and it sort of symbolized life to me, so I decided to add some animals using it as its habitat. I think that I will be able to use some of the patience that I gained in this unit, because at first it was very stressful and I wanted to quit at first. I thought what was the point and started to stress when I couldn't do something, but I went back and watched the videos and they helped a little but the rest of it was patience when I had to crop the images. The main skill that I am going to take out of this is the taking marks out of an image and replacing them with something else, for example on the elephants they had someones @ name on the leg so I had to cut that out little by little to make it seem like it was regular. Ultimately I am very glad with everything I learned, and I am proud with myself for not giving up on myself or this unit.

Now that I am in 8th grade and have experienced most of the whole "middle school experience" I think that everyone thinks that they have it figured out when they are younger but when you actually take time there are somethings I wish I had known before going into middle school. One of the most major things that I struggled with throughout the majority of my first years in middle school was understanding that it is okay that everyone doesn't like you and its natural. I think that unknowingly society kind of feeds into kids minds now that if you aren't liked by everyone then you are lesser then other people, and this may cause people to change so that they can fit in with the "popular kids". It shouldn't matter how many people like you in middle school because the likelihood of you being around those same people in the future is very slim, so you should just embarrass yourself and be around people who encourage you to do what you like to do. Another thing that I wish I knew was how to be able to tell myself when I am not placed in a good learning environment. One of the examples of that is when we have "flexible seating" that is a privilege and an opportunity to set a good impression with your teachers because even if you are with your friends you will lose track of time and find yourself rushing to get work done which can cause unnecessary stress. Another thing that I learned is while you are working in groups with people who don't have the exact same opinions, you should put everything behind you and work for the common goal because your ego could over shadow the fact that it will affect your grade. Those are just a few of the things that I learned and are very important to know not only for middle school but life in general. If you really think about it middle school is where you actually get shaped into the person you are going to grow up to be and the life lesson you will learn.
If you play sports, you should understand the struggles of having bad refs that can ruin the play of game that can either help your team or hurt your team. Today I will be talking about both types of refs but mainly the ones that do not help. The first ref tat I will be talking about today is the one who doesn't know who hit the ball out, so they call the ball to the team that yells at them the most telling them the direction to go. Another type of ref that I don't like are the refs who call every little small thing a foul when both of the team know that its not a foul , this just delays the game and gives an unfair advantage to the tougher of the teams. One of my least favorite types of refs are school refs, they usually have never played the sport before, or its there first time ever being a ref, this does not help either of the teams usually. But by far my least favorite refs are the ones who always have to look to the other refs on the field to get there final answer when they are not sure who to call the play for, and usually get frowned with peer pressure form the chanting of the sidelines from angry parents.
Every year, many people make unrealistic New Years resalutions that they will not end up accomlitions or give up when its gets too difficult. Im not going to lie I have tried to make a New Years Reselution that I know that I couldn't achieve, such as keeping my room clean everyday. So, this year I decided that I am going to use one word that with be the base of my year. This year my word is growth. I chose the word growth, because this word can be used for more than just one thing. I can have growth in many ways such as sports school, individual growth, and team building. I can have growth in sports because I can work harder and have better skills, that will help me in the long term. I can have lots of growth in school because I can study more and work harder which will be a very effective way to improve my grades. The way that I can have individual growth is because I can grow as a human, such as being nicer to people and make better diccisions. But I think that I nned to work on my team building the most, because I need to work harder on my being open to other peoples ideas and what think is best, instead of just deny and taking control of most situations.
A couple of weeks ago my team had a soccer game, against one of our other rival teams, Davis legacy, This was probably one of the last games that I would be allowed to play, because I am not okay. So, the beginning of this game started out as a usual game , because the stakes were higher and the game was better. Then the ball was passed down the line at an angle right to my player, and was shot in the back corner of the net at 19:31 minutes into the game.We had a water break seconds after the she scored that goal, because it was 100 on the field. We were rushed back onto the field after our coach just gave us and amazing motivational speech. Eight minutes into the game a the ball was passed down in the center of the field, with no one in a 10 yard radius, and she hit the ball with a one touch into the net, without even having to take another glance again everyone knew that was going in.The game is 52 minutes in and we are granted a foul, from the ref, and the wind is blowing in our favor at this moment. the ball is kick ,and it gets placed right behind the goalie, and in the moment the crowd roars with excitement, when they see the curve of the ball. hen moments later the ref blows the whistle, and the game is over, everyone cheers, and smiles, we are all overwhelmed with joy, we had just beat out rivals.
